Congratulations Southeast Division for winning finalist in the "Excellence in Community Policing" 2010 James Q. Wilson award.

Welcome

Southeast Division is looking forward to building successful youth programs. It is our goal, through our youth programs to decrease the risk of gang involvement, recruit for future careers in law enforcement and provide fun and educational activities for our youth. These programs will have a positive impact not only on the youth of the area but the community as a whole.

About Us
The Los Angeles Police Department's, Southeast Area youth programs, service the community in various capacities. They enrich the lives of many children who otherwise would not have an outlet for safe structured programs. The children in our community are faced with many obstacles. They live in a demographic area that is saturated with a multitude of various gangs and social economic challenges. They face dangers such as peer pressure into the drug community, victimization of violent crimes, teen pregnancies, and other factors associated with the destruction of a child's success in life.

Our youth programs consist of Cadets (formerly Explorers), Deputy Auxiliary Police (DAPS), Jeopardy, and the Police Athletics League (PAL). The program depends solely on donations to keep the youth programs functioning, and 100% of all donations support all of the activities and events.
